For this store, I used Shopify's "Debut" theme, which is great for stores with small catalogues. The best part of this theme is how much space it reserves for visual story-telling. Check out the beautiful homepage I was able to build using this theme as a base line:

While some customizations were possible using Shopify's built-in page editor (for example, changing the page layout and button color), I got to use my coding skills to achieve others. For example, the product pages. This is what a typical product page looks like:

Here is what I was able to do for an affiliate product page: 

I was able to go into the theme files, and edit the code so that the product's price and options are not visible. I was also able to replace the "buy now" and "add to cart" buttons with the "see on Amazon" button.
